Birthing in Our Community (BiOC) Jajum Bajara

GP Information

Jajum Bajara is supported by an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce and is based out of culturally safe and welcoming community-based hubs at Yulu-Burri-Ba Capalaba, Dunwich, and Wynnum.

The maternity service encompasses the following elements:

  • continuity of midwifery care with 24/7 access to pregnancy, birthing, and postnatal care provided by the same midwife
  • community-based care
  • contemporary culture and practice
  • connection to land and county
  • a holistic definition of health
  • Indigenous and non-Indigenous ways of knowing and learning.
