BiOC Northern Hubs
Our North BiOC hubs are supported by an Indigenous workforce strategy and are based out of culturally safe and welcoming Aboriginal community controlled community-based hubs.
What is offered at BiOC Strathpine and Caboolture hubs?
The BiOC service is designed for our Indigenous families to access the deadly program with access to:
- a dedicated midwifery team where a known midwife will birth bub
- a dedicated family support worker and transportation for your appointments if transport is needed
- a social worker and psychologist to support you and your social and emotional wellbeing
- cultural connection through community days, playgroup, belly casting, NAIDOC and many other significant events.
How can community connect with BiOC Northern hubs?
To access BiOC North, you will need to see your Moreton ATSICHS GP for a referral. Once our family support practitioner connects with you, you will be welcomed into the hub to meet our deadly team, who will guide you through your pregnancy journey.
If you are a part of the BiOC North program, you will birth at one of three hospitals: Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital, Caboolture Hospital or Redcliffe Hospital. This is depending on where you live.
I feel at home when I go into the hub. Having extra hands guide us through the pregnancy or everyday tasks really does make a huge difference.
