IUIH’s exercise rehabilitation program—Work It Out—is a chronic condition self-management program tailored for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 18 years and over, to support stronger, longer, and healthier lives.
What is Work it Out?
Work It Out is a chronic condition self-management program tailored for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 18 years and over, to support stronger, longer, and healthier lives.
The program runs twice a week for six months, and it’s not only a safe and supported setting for exercise, but an opportunity to stay socially and culturally connected.
When you graduate from the program, you will have the skills and knowledge to manage your health better. You will be provided with an exercise program that suits your abilities, goals and movements you enjoy, and information on support services in your local community.


What happens at Work It Out?
The program offers a supportive and friendly group environment to yarn about your health, learn about living well, and move with an exercise program especially tailored for you. The group is a welcoming space to share your journey and to feel safe, supported and connected. The team will work with you to develop your skills to support everyday activities that are important to you.

For Mob connected to an Aboriginal Medical Service in Southeast Queensland, your local clinic GP can refer you.
