Our Family Wellbeing Service is here to support families to be strong, connected and thriving in a culturally safe and respectful way. We work alongside families to identify what matters most to them and support them to work towards their goals to improve overall wellbeing.
About IUIH’s Family Wellbeing Service
The IUIH Family Wellbeing Service is an early intervention program, integrated with IUIH’s primary health care services, aiming to enhance the resilience, connectedness and social/emotional wellbeing of children and young people and helping to build strong and resilient families.

General information
Kalwun’s Family Wellbeing Service delivers timely, effective support to Gold Coast families with children and young people under the age of 18 years.

Referrals
Who to refer
- Parents and caregivers and their kids who have multiple, complex needs (e.g. parenting, social and emotional wellbeing issues, housing, Centrelink, legal issues etc.) who would benefit from a culturally safe service
- At least one member of the family who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Consent from the family to complete an FWS referral
- Families who have a child/children under 18, including those unborn (if unborn, you must have the pregnant woman’s consent)
- Residing in the Gold Coast area.
How to refer
FWS accepts IUIH network, external and self-referrals.
Self-referral or referral outside the network
Visit Family Support Referral and select the option that says you are a member of the public.
