What we offer
We’re proud of being a great place to work, where people grow and thrive in their roles, connect deeply with our purpose and settle in for a fulfilling career over the long term.

Supportive work environment
Yarning (chatting), asking questions and sharing ideas are part of our daily rhythm. You’ll always have someone to turn to for guidance, collaboration or just a good laugh.

Practice with a difference
Work in multidisciplinary teams that include allied health professionals, GPs, nurses and cultural support staff, all collaborating in our unique System of Care.

Client-centred approach
With our ‘no wrong door’ philosophy, clients can easily access other IUIH services for wrap-around support. This means better outcomes for clients – and lots of colleagues to collaborate with.

Focus on outcomes for your clients
Focus on quality care, with clinical and operational guidance tailored to you. Our team benefits from comprehensive administrative support for scheduling and billing, so you can focus on making an impact for your clients.

Strong cultural foundations
Our in-depth orientation and Propa Ways program will help you connect deeply with IUIH’s culture, values and Ways of Working. Feel confident supporting Mob with ongoing opportunities to learn and develop.

SPOT model
Our Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists work together in paediatric sessions, a unique opportunity to work in a close multi-disciplinary setting that achieves great outcomes for our jarjum and families.
Make an impact
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a positive difference in the lives of the people you support, this is the role for you! We have a ‘no wrong door’ approach, and provide holistic support – you’ll be part of a team where we walk the walk on making a difference for Mob, from bubs and jarjum to Elders.
- Walk alongside community: Assist clients through every stage of life, building strong, lasting connections.
- Make health accessible: Deliver open, approachable and culturally safe allied health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Culturally responsive care: Help shape programs and services that reflect and respond to community needs.
- Tangible outcomes: The work you do has real results—IUIH is closing the HALE (Health Adjusted Life Expectancy) gap 1.75x faster than standard care.
Grow your career
Whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced clinician, you’ll find opportunities to expand your skills, follow your interests and build a meaningful career.
Structured graduate program
Develop confidence and experience with hands-on learning, guided supervision and professional development pathways. Lots of our graduates stay with IUIH as they grow in their roles, and enjoy the opportunity to try out different areas of practice.
Kickstart your career while you study
Therapy Assistant roles are a great way for third- and fourth-year allied health students to gain practical experience and clinical exposure. Roles are flexible to allow for study and placements, and can be a great pathway to a graduate role.
Strong support systems
You’ll have the full support of your team around you, including an experienced leader. Benefit from regular peer and 1:1 clinical supervision, group mentoring and professional development sessions. IUIH provides comprehensive administrative support for clinicians, meaning you can spend less time on admin and more time working with your clients.
Personalised roles
Your caseload and professional focus will be tailored to your skills, interests and goals. IUIH offers roles that work in varied areas including paediatrics, disability and generalist adult areas, across clinic, telehealth and community-based settings. There’s variety aplenty, and the opportunity to try out different areas of practice over time if that’s something you want to explore.
Team learning
Work and learn alongside experienced colleagues in allied health, nursing, and primary care – a multidisciplinary experience you won’t find anywhere else. Our unique model of care provides a true team around our clients, so you can always connect and collaborate with other professionals, maximising our impact.

Cadetships offer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students the opportunity to gain real-world experience whilst studying. Our team can assist you in designing an Allied Health cadetship to suit your interests, study area and location.
