BiOC Logan Hub

What is offered at BiOC Jajumbora (Logan)?

Our BiOC Jajumbora hub provides a midwifery team to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families, throughout their pregnancy journey by offering:

  • a dedicated midwifery team where a known midwife will birth bub
  • an identified family support worker
  • home visits when needed
  • pregnancy advice and support through to parenthood (until bub is three years of age)
  • breast-feeding support.

Jajumbora also offers basic health and development screening for BiOC babies and overall well-being checks with child health.

How can community connect with BiOC Jajumbora?

Jajumbora is a collaboration between ATSICHS Brisbane and Logan Hospital. To access BiOC Jajumbora, ask your doctor for a referral to Logan Hospital Antenatal clinic, indicating Jajumbora MGP on the referral form.

Once you are referred to Jajumbora, you will meet with your midwife and the rest of the team. You will get to know your midwife by name and the same midwife will support you throughout your pregnancy and the birth of your bub. We can meet with you at the Jajumbora hub, one of our ATSICHS clinics, or we can come out to your home.
