Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiology is an allied health service that uses movement and exercise to support and prevent a range of ongoing health conditions, injuries and more.

An exercise physiologist can support Mob with:

  • breathing difficulties such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and COPD
  • diabetes
  • disability
  • heart conditions
  • joint pain including arthritis and osteoporosis
  • mental health and wellbeing
  • pregnancy journey, during and after
  • recovery from a stroke
  • sporting injuries
  • weight management.

At your first appointment, the exercise physiologist will yarn with you about your medical and exercise history, work out your goals and guide you through some easy physical tests.

Don’t worry if you haven’t exercised before, we will create a program especially for you.    The exercise physiologist will work with you to develop your skills to support everyday activities that are important to you.

An exercise physiology session might include:

  • an exercise program
  • tips to manage health conditions
  • muscle and joint movement
  • breathing exercises
  • bladder training and pelvic floor exercises
  • tips to help you return to activities that you enjoy.

If you have had your 715 health check, you can request a referral from your doctor to see an exercise physiologist. 

Your doctor may refer you for a one-on-one sessions, or to Work It Out  – a group exercise program for adults 18 years and over.

Or you can yarn with your doctor or nurse at our clinic.
